Editorial Structure
Governance Overview
This text defines and regulates the editorial structure and responsibilities within AIDASCO Reviews.
The journal operates under the direct supervision and authority of the Board of the Association for the International Development of Academic and Scientific Collaboration (AIDASCO), which governs all editorial, administrative, and strategic aspects of its publishing activities.
All editorial and policy decisions are made in accordance with AIDASCO’s official framework for publishing management.
This structure ensures that AIDASCO Reviews operates in a manner that is transparent, ethical, and fully aligned with AIDASCO’s mission of advancing open science, education, and international cooperation.
Governance overview is presented in the schematics bellow.

Executive Co-Editors
The Executive Co-Editors, appointed by the AIDASCO Board, provide overall leadership and direction for AIDASCO Reviews.
They supervise the editorial policy, publication strategy, and peer-review process; approve final decisions on all manuscripts; and ensure that the journal upholds the highest academic and ethical standards.
They also coordinate the organization of special issues and represent the journal within the AIDASCO network and the broader academic community.
Associate Editors
Associate Editors are appointed by the Executive Co-Editors, in consultation with the AIDASCO Board.
They handle manuscripts within their respective areas of expertise, coordinate peer review, and assist in maintaining the journal’s scientific quality and efficiency.
This position is typically offered to active members of the AIDASCO community and experienced researchers who demonstrate editorial reliability and a strong commitment to open science.
Editorial Board Members
The Editorial Board is composed of scholars and professionals from a wide range of disciplines who support the journal by promoting its mission, recommending reviewers, contributing manuscripts, and advising on editorial matters.
Editorial Board Members also assist in organizing thematic or institutional special issues and in maintaining the scientific reputation of AIDASCO Reviews.
They are appointed by the Executive Co-Editors, in consultation with the AIDASCO Board.
Guest Editors / Special Issue Editors
Given the journal’s strong dedication to special issues, the AIDASCO Board or Executive Co-Editors may appoint Guest Editors (or Special Issue Editors) to manage specific thematic collections or institutional editions.
Guest Editors oversee the submission and peer-review process for their assigned issues in close coordination with the Executive Co-Editors, who retain the final editorial authority.
This model fosters collaboration while ensuring that every special issue adheres to the journal’s scientific and ethical standards.
Assistant Editors
Assistant Editors support the day-to-day editorial process, including correspondence with authors and reviewers, manuscript preparation, and technical production tasks.
They play a key role in maintaining workflow efficiency and ensuring the consistent presentation of published articles.
Honorary Editorial Board (HEB)
The Honorary Editorial Board may include individuals or representatives of organizations that have made exceptional contributions to the development and visibility of AIDASCO Reviews or AIDASCO’s broader initiatives.
Members of the HEB are recognized for their support and advocacy but are not involved in the operational aspects of the editorial process.
Youth Editorial Board (YEB)
Reflecting AIDASCO’s strong commitment to youth engagement, the Youth Editorial Board consists of motivated students and early-stage researchers who contribute ideas for enhancing the participation of young scientists in academic publishing and science communication.
The YEB has an advisory role and contributes to outreach, mentoring, and special youth-focused projects.
Editorial Responsibility
All editorial, administrative, and policy decisions remain under the exclusive jurisdiction of the AIDASCO Board.
This governance model safeguards the independence, integrity, and transparency of AIDASCO Reviews and ensures that the journal continues to fulfill its mission of supporting global academic collaboration and the advancement of open science.
