It gives us immense pleasure to inform you that a new era is starting for AIDASCO. In 2023. AIDASCO will be starting with publishing activities. For starters, we are establishing a journal that will serve as one more tool of AIDASCO to promote international academic and scientific collaboration, early-stage researchers and entrepreneurs, contribute to gender equality and science communication, and involve students of all levels in the world of science. A bumpy road is ahead, but we believe we have what it takes to make AIDASCO a successful publisher one day.

The idea of starting a journal within AIDASCO has been with us for some time. But, in the summer of 2022. it became clear to us that all conditions for starting that adventure had been fulfilled. In September 2022. we decided to initiate what it takes to establish a journal. As with any other adventure, we knew we would encounter different challenges, especially technical aspects, so we were quiet and informed only some of our closest collaborators. In a few days, members of AIDASCO supported us, and we received more than enough articles to fill in the inaugural issue. Therefore, we would like to use this opportunity to thank all AIDASCO members, sponsors, donors, and supporters for the enormous support that inspired us and truly helped us to start this project.

Now, you might be wondering, what is our motivation to start a journal in times when there exist thousands of publishers? We want to leave the frames imposed by typical scientific publications while expanding the views of available popular magazines. We intend that AIDASCO Reviews journal serves both scientists and the general public, especially regarding raising awareness about topics that are critical to humankind.

Our motto for this project is: “I create, therefore I am “. Indeed, this motto had been formulated with a little help from René Descartes, whose fundamental philosophical thought was “I think, therefore I am” (lat. Cogito, ergo sum). Nowadays, people seem to focus too much on thinking and less on creating – no wonder we reached this critical moment in our existence when we overlooked other people’s and mother nature’s needs.

So, let’s think and create together.

All the best from the AIDASCO team,
Maria, Sanja and Stevan
